Reception Venues For Thought.

Venues are the one thing that Brian and I may completely agree on: we both want a place with a spectacular view. I, being from the east coast, definitely think that the Vancouver skyline is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen (Not that I'm a skyline connoisseur of any sort).

So here is a list of venues that we have been considering:

Cloud 9 Revolving Restaurant

The Sandbar in Granville

Hycroft Mansion in Shaughnessy

Seasons in the Park at Queen Elizabeth Park

Can't wait to visit them all in March! :)

Another one! :)
Cecil Green Park House at UBC

  1. Our cousin Mark had his wedding at Hycroft - it was beautiful. I think if you join the women's club at UBC you get a discount...so see if you can arrange that ;p
A word of caution when booking restaurants - they expect you to match what their cost would be on a regular Saturday night...so if they gross 50K, they expect you to spend that amount on food and wine too. Just a heads up as we didn't know this.

  2. Yes, Brian mentioned that Mark had his wedding there. It looks amazing!

I haven't gotten all the estimates for all the venues yet but based on the estimates that Brian got, Seasons in the Park would charge approximately $7500 for a five-course meal and hors d'ourves for 100 people. The venue rental would be around $2000. So without drinks, about $10,000 which I think we can swing.

As for any restaurants requesting $50,000 -- that will be an easy and polite "no thanks." :)

  8. This is very useful information on the reception venues and hope it will help me in finding the right venue for arranging my company’s opening ceremony. Want to book one of the exquisite LA event venues and hope to have great time.
