Okay let's just cut straight to the updates.
MY WEDDING DRESS CAME IN AND THANK THE LORD ALMIGHTY IT FITS! I went with a dress like.... 4 sizes smaller than what the seamstress recommended and I'm glad I did because it fits and might even be a touch too big in certain areas. TAKE THAT TURKISH SEAMSTRESS! I think I'm only allowed room for ten more pounds of weight loss -- any more than that and I think I'll have to make major alterations. But the important thing is, the dress fits. And I love it!!!!
As of March 26th, I am officially a REGISTERED NURSE! Check it out y'all!
Thank you Delaware. |
Gina, R.N. Ready for duty! |
An oldie. But goodie. Nurse Gina -- in action! |
Okay, this is obviously me giving CPR -- in style. :P |
Back to wedding updates:
Invitations have gone out and RSVPs have been flooding in! Now I know that I can't expect EVERYONE to remember to RSVP on time so I'm going to wait until the beginning of May before I start stalking all those non-replyers. Le sigh. Not looking forward to it.
My bridal shower is set for APRIL 14th! My bridesmaids have been scheming away behind my back and I cannot WAIT to see what they've hatched up for me! I already got my invitation in the mail and it was everything I dreamed of and more! I believe the theme for the shower is French Boudoir. So. Freaking. Me. My girls know me so well. :P
The bachelorette party will take place July 14th, in Atlantic City, New Jersey and I am SOOOO looking forward to a spa/beach day and then partying the night away with my ladies! It'll be good to come back and see everybody before the wedding!
SO I OFFICIALLY SHIP OUT IN LIKE THREE WEEKS!!! AGHHH!!!!! It's been such a whirlwind year so far and I can't believe I'm so close to leaving the east coast! I'm ready for it though. The current tentative plan of action is to DRIVE ACROSS THE COUNTRY with my girls, Grace and Shirin. Quarter-life crisis roadtrip! Hollerrrr!!! We're thinking about taking 10 days to hit up Chicago, random cities in the middle that no one ever thinks about going to, Yellowstone, Portland, and then shimmy our way up to Seattle where we will part ways. I'm super stoked and I know that there will be TONS of planning required but I'm ready to take on the challenge and hope that everything works out for the best! I'll keep you all posted on the deets!
Brian and Mama Gregg are coming out to spend Easter on the east side! They'll be flying in on Saturday and then the plans for the next week include a trip to Amish town in Pennsylvania, NYC for a couple of days, Baltimore, and then DC. I know. It's gonna be a crazy ass week.
Meanwhile, Brian and I are still looking into the music details of our wedding. We're probably going to go with some basic party DJ who can't possibly f-up playing a list of songs over the speaker but we're also trying to incorporate some live music into the mix.... possibly during dinner time and for the first dances? I've been seriously loving this particular group Side One. Check them out and let me know what you think!
Okay I think I've covered all the important, major news/updates. Now that I've passed the boards and have only one job (I had to quit my hospital job at Christiana because you can't extern there once you pass the boards), I'm going to strive to blog more! I have tons more to write about!
Love you all!
Yay!! Welcome back to the blogosphere!
ReplyDeleteAs for music, we loved having a DJ at our wedding - they do it all - dinner music, entrance music, dance music - it's definitely the most versatile option because they can play literally ANYTHING, whereas a band is kinda limited. A DJ can play YMCA to appease our mothers and then we can drop it like it's hot later ;)
Congrats on being done and on the big move!! We'll see ya soon! xx
glad you're back on here haha...i think side one sounds good xP
ReplyDeleteSo sad we didn't get to do the roadtrip, one day it will happen!! definitely before you start popping out mini-gina/brians!
