82 Dresses To Go

Hello hello.

School has been slowly but ever so surely consuming my life. The semester will lighten up after the next week or so and I will finally have a moment to breathe. Until then, I hope you all won't mind the blogging stagnation/inconsistencies.

Updates:

Kleinfelds. 11 days away and I am in rough shape. School and stress have been throwing a major wrench into my diet plans and exercise has been getting the shaft. I still managed to eke out 5 hours of workouts last week and still hope to maintain at least that level of activity this week as well. *Fingers crossed*

Dress try-ons. I just tried on 5 more dresses on Friday with Lena and they were bling-tastic. For your viewing pleasure:

So. Much. Fluff.

Bedazzled.

Betrained.

All in all, a successful try-on sesh. I'm beginning to get a better idea of the types of dresses that I think I want for the big day. I don't think I'll have any more time to devote to try-ons until Kleinfelds, which is fine by me because I'll be ready to go all out by then!

Speaking of Kleinfelds and my failed diet, my cousin sent me a project to do in the mail called "Flat Ellie". She mails herself to me and I take her along to various adventures where I document the journey with photos with her in it. I partially blame her for my recent food fails. See below.

Best. Quiche. Ever.

Korean food. Nuff said.
BROWNIES WITH ICING. YESSSSS.

We're human, right? Indulgence is natural. :)

New Possible Venues

It's Brian again. I found two new possible venues, thanks to the help of my mom. I still think Seasons in the Park, Cecil Green Park House and the Stanley Park Teahouse are my favs, but The Brock House Jericho Beach and the Terminal City Club are pretty nice too. Apparently there are a bunch of places I've never heard of in my own city.

Getting Buff

It's Brian here.

I've noticed that Gina has slowly transformed this blog into 50% about getting in shape.  I've decided that it's time for this future groom to get his pump on.  I'm starting to look like a bit of a cubicle worker.  If I'm going to be flexing my way down the marriage aisle, I need to bust a move.  This is half inspired by Gina's blog posts and half inspired by the fact that I ate 2 cheeseburgers, fries and mcnuggets today.

Loverly Gatsby-esque Wedding Dresses

I love this gown designer: Joan Shum

I don't think I'd ever personally be able to pull off any of her gowns but I love the unique style she brings with the whole retro theme. It's a breath of fresh air from all the typical satin and chiffon and tulle.

If Brian and I ultimately decide to bail out and elope, this would be my elopement dress:

Timeless love.

I'm almost tempted to do it.

Almost.

Photofab.

I've been looking at a lot of different photographers and am slowly getting acquainted to the overall art of moment-capturing.

My fave photographers at the moment are the brilliant artists at Boudoir Divas. Too. Prettyyyyy.....

Check out one of their photoshoots:

Ah-woooosah.

Cannot WAIT 'til this week is over.

I hate to be such a debbie downer but I am in some serious need for a break in this painful monotony of having such a jam-packed mandatory schedule. And I'm not alone in my sufferings: all my classmates in my accelerated program have begun to slowly realize that this semester is inhumane and incompatible with a happy healthy life so we're pretty much just a mass group of wallowers that meet up everyday and remind each other of how miserable we all look. It's depressing beyond words.

I'd like to take this time to thank my wonderful and loving long-distanced fiance for dealing with me for the past week. I haven't been the easiest person to be around/talk to/skype with lately and he may have gotten the brunt of my grouchiness. I have been neglecting him for at least a few days now and he is patient and understanding and just overall -- great. I just need to keep my sanity intact until the weekend gets here. Takin' it day by day... A-wooooooooooooooo-saaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Enough of the negative thoughts. Time to focus on the fun things to look forward to.

Upcoming events:

- Kleinfeld/NYC trip with the girlfraaannnnnndssss. :)
- The end of winter and the beginning of spring! Yes yes yes!
- SPRING BREAK. Holy moley do I ever need this. 23 days left.... twenty. three. days. til I can leave my scrubs and textbooks behind for the west coast sunshine and the loverman.
- Jennie's bachelorette party! My first drag show! Woo hoo!
- The end of spring semester. Please God, let me survive long enough to see the end of it.
- SUMMERTIME!!!!

I feel better already.

Wedding snippet:

Here's an Enzoani dress I tried on last Sunday. Lovely dress. Dumb expression on my face.

Suck it in and tuck it, girl.

87 dresses left to try on. :)

A Week of Failures...

So I've been pretty much on a binge fest so far this week.

I've been at school an average of 10 hours every day and it. Sucks. Big. Time.

My diet totally reflects how stressed out and frazzled I am. I've succumbed to the temptations of deep fried goodness for the past three days. In my body's defense, I did spend an hour on the elliptical both Sunday and Monday night. Tuesday I started off okay with a veggie sub (which did come with a hearty side of french fries) but then I caved in at dinner when I opted for General Tso's tofu which doesn't sound too horrible except for the fact that they gave me 5 pounds of it along with a side of whiiiiittttteeee riiiiiiiceeeeee...... My weakness. Today I rechecked myself by having a salad for a late breakfast. But then I had a chimichanga (unfried) for lunch today (Uh. Mayzing) with double sides of Mexican rice and ice cream dessert. Fried.

I need help.

But I'm going to get back on track starting this moment. Yes I will have to head back to school this evening for a late night study session but. I. WILL. ELLIPTICAL. TONIGHT.

Tomorrow I will take my exam in the morning and blast my excess calories with a fantabulous round of hardcore tennis with Anneliese.

Friday's plan. Schoolwork. Work-work. Then another round of poundin' some serious balls on the tennis court.

Saturday. Pot luck at Brent's. Dun dun DUN! Must. Stay. Next. To. Veggie. Dish. And. Avoid. Hashbrown. Casserole.

Sunday. Weigh In #4. :(

I probably shouldn't have weigh ins during weeks when I have pot lucks to attend to. It just isn't fair.
